The Green&Blue team was excited to join in with the Big Garden Birdwatch from the RSPB on Monday 27th January 2020. Armed with pen, paper, and cups of tea, we set up camp in the kitchen where we have a great view of the Bird Feeders, Bird Table and Bird Bath as well as a thick hedgerow that at certain times of the day is simply alive with birds.
During a chilly hour, with the odd shower, the birds of Perranporth did not let us down and we were delighted to count;
2 Robins
1 Wren
5 Chaffinches
3 House Sparrows
5 Great Tits
4 Blue Tits
1 Bullfinch
1 Dunnock.
When the hour was up we headed straight to the RSPB website to report our findings, ready for these to be added to counts up and down the country, helping give a clearer picture of our garden birds in the UK.
If you took part in the count we'd love to know in the comments how you got on,? What did you spot? Were you surprised?
And most importantly of all, make sure you report your count to the RSPB here.

Hi,
I saw 4 goldfinch, 3 blue titis, 3 great tits, 1 chaffinch, 1 coal tit, 1 dunnock, 3 robins, 3 jays, 1 Wood pigeon, 2 magpies, 1 blackbird.
Jealous of your bullfinch.
My count was:
blue-tits 3, great-tits 2, coal tit 1, long-tailed tits 5, robins 3, dunnock 1, wren 1
Long-tailed tits are sociable, coming in groups; and they are quite happy to feed two at a time from the ball feeders.
