Cornish company Green&Blue are delighted to announce a commitment to looking after their team, as the business grows and develops.
With a strong history and a proven commitment to looking after wildlife, the team felt it was time they went that step further and made a pledge for people as well, committing to pay the team a minimum hourly rate that meets the true cost of living, joining just 104 companies in Cornwall* who are accredited.
Faye Clifton, head of sales and marketing, said "We see community, and Cornwall, as an important part of everything we do and are proud that our team all live locally. By paying the real living wage we are ensuring that our team can enjoy their lives outside the business, and in turn we understand that more money will go into our local economy."
"Without the commitment, passion and hard work of the team, we wouldn't be achieving the milestones we are currently," says Gavin Christman, Co-Founder of Green&Blue. "We see accreditation as something to be extremely proud of, and an important part of our commitment, as a certified B-Corporation, to always be doing the best we can for people and for planet."
Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that Green&Blue has joined the movement of over 6000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.
“They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as IKEA, Heathrow Airport, Barclays, Chelsea and Everton Football Clubs and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Green&Blue, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay."
